THE FEDERAL ENERGY TAX CREDIT CAN HELP YOU SAVE ON ST LOUIS HEATING AND COOLING (HVAC) PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
President Obama passed an Economic Stimulus Bill which provided an energy tax credit for homeowners. Homeowners may be eligible for a tax credit if they have purchased certain types of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, water heating equipment, or make other energy-related improvements to their homes between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2011.
J Williams (St Louis Heating and Cooling Specialist) is a leader in producing energy-efficient home comfort solutions, and we have several products that are eligible for the energy tax credit and this can save you money. You may qualify for a tax credit of up to$1,500 on your 2009 or 2010 income tax return or up to $500** on your 2011 income tax return. This will of course depend on the type of product or system you purchased. ST LOUIS HEATING AND COOLING (HVAC) CUSTOMERS ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ENERGY TAX CREDIT
On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (also known as the Economic Stimulus Bill) into law. This legislation combines spending and tax incentives designed to get the American economy moving again by investing in our nation's roads and energy infrastructure, and by providing incentives for increasing the efficiency and performance of America's homes and commercial buildings.
Congress also modified and extended its energy efficiency tax credits for appliances, new homes and retrofits to existing homes, which includes the 25C heating and cooling equipment tax incentive for another year as part of the recently passed tax bill. The wonderful thing about the new tax bill is that it provides incentives (the value decreased each year 2009 thru 2011) and the eligibility extends to the end of 2011.
ST LOUIS HEATING AND COOLING (HVAC) CUSTOMERS CAN APPLY FOR A 2011 TAX CREDIT
For qualified improvements, homeowners may be able to claim tax credits equal to 10 percent of the installed costs (up to $500 maximum for 2011 purchases). If you have qualifying purchases, you will want to hurry because the energy tax credit can only be used for qualifying products and systems installed during the 2011 calendar year and expires on December 31, 2011.
One thing you will be really excited about is the fact that the tax credit applies as a direct reduction of taxes owed. To learn more about claiming the tax credit, you'll want to speak with your income tax return preparer or the IRS. The IRS has committed to providing guidance on how tax payers can claim their credit so be sure to use them as a resource. Previously, the IRS asked taxpayers to use Form 5695 (the Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit) to claim the energy credit but this is no longer the case.

The average household spends more than $2,200 a year on energy bills, with nearly half of this going to heating and cooling costs. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can help you make smart decisions about your home’s heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system that can help save on energy costs, improve your overall comfort at home, and help fight global warming.
As temperatures across the nation rise sharply during the summer months, consumers tend to use their air conditioning systems excessively. In some cases people are using their air conditioning units to their full potential because they cannot spend even a single day without using cool air due to high temperatures. There a number of air conditioning issues being observed in the market because consumers are not following basic air conditioning maintenance. St. Louis, MO HVAC Dealer, J Wiliams, want consumers to know that they can extend the life of their unit by doing general maintenance on their air conditioning systems regularly.
